Hakan Fidan: Considered Israel’s ceasefire violations an obstacle to the peace process
Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, following the Gaza meeting held in Miami, Florida with the participation of officials from the United States, Egypt, and Qatar, stated that Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire have seriously complicated the peace process.
Referring to the Sharm El-Sheikh peace agreement, Fidan said: “The first stage was completed with the delivery of the last hostages, and now the parameters for the transition to the second stage are under review. Yesterday’s meeting can be considered the most important session since the Sharm El-Sheikh summit.”
He added:
“Turkey has clearly declared that violations of the ceasefire threaten the peace plan and create significant risks in the transition to the second stage. All parties agreed on this matter.”
The Foreign Minister also addressed the issue of reconstruction in Gaza, outlining three fundamental principles of Turkey:
Gaza must be governed by the people of Gaza.
Gaza’s territorial integrity must not be compromised.
All actions must directly benefit the people of Gaza.

Fidan stressed that planned investments should directly serve the people of Gaza, adding: “Turkey’s experience in rebuilding earthquake-stricken regions can also be applied in Gaza.”
He further noted ongoing discussions on the establishment of a Peace Council and an international stabilization force, stating: “This meeting was the most significant high-level gathering since Sharm El-Sheikh.”
Highlighting the importance of humanitarian aid, Fidan said: “With winter approaching, sending tents and shelter containers is essential. Our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is particularly sensitive about this issue.”
In conclusion, Fidan referred to parallel negotiations on Ukraine, noting: “Turkey shared its views with American, European, and Ukrainian counterparts, and cooperation with the relevant parties will continue.”
