Exports from 50 Provinces of Turkey Increased in the First Seven Months of the Year
According to data from the Turkish Ministry of Trade, in July, Istanbul province had the highest share with $5.835 billion in exports, showing a 16.6% growth compared to the same period last year. It was followed by Kocaeli province with $3.258 billion and 20.5% growth, and İzmir province with $2.013 billion and 8% growth.
In Istanbul, “precious or semi-precious stones” topped the export categories with $960.912 million. It was followed by “mineral chemicals, precious metals, and radioactive elements” with $715.471 million and “apparel and knitted accessories” with $496.709 million.
Kocaeli made most of its exports in the “motor vehicles” sector with $1.304606 billion. This sector was followed by “electrical machinery and equipment” with $264.509 million and “mineral fuels and oils” with $231.547 million.
In İzmir, “mineral fuels and oils” ranked first with $459.957 million. They were followed by “iron and steel” with $190.263 million and “boilers and machinery” with $186.560 million.
