Erdoğan: Gaza Has Become the Worlds Largest Forced Labor Camp
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, speaking at the “International Justice Summit” at the Çırağan Palace in Istanbul, criticized the international system’s conduct toward Gaza and declared: “Gaza has been turned into the world’s largest forced labor camp by the genocidal, arrogant, and criminal network that regards itself as above international law.”
Erdoğan added: International agreements have lost their former credibility and function, and rulings issued by international courts are no longer enforceable in the same way.
Emphasizing the flaws and dysfunction of the international system from whatever angle it is viewed, the Turkish president said: We are all witnessing the problems this system has created at the global level.
He also commented on regional tensions and the Strait of Hormuz: The Strait of Hormuz, through which about 35 percent of the world’s oil exports pass, remains blocked despite many efforts made in recent months.
Emphasizing Turkey’s support for the oppressed of the world, Erdoğan said: Turkey endures hardships if necessary, but it does not turn its back on people who have pinned their hopes on it and have been subjected to oppression.
In conclusion, the Turkish president stressed: No one can say that the United Nations system, which does not reflect international expectations, is legitimate and just.
