Iranian Diplomat in Ankara Emphasizes Fair Nuclear Agreement
Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Political Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country, after meeting and holding talks with Turkish officials on Friday (10th of Bahman), wrote on his account on the social media platform “X”: Iran is always ready for interaction and cooperation with regional countries to maintain peace and stability and safeguard it from any illegal aggression.
Araghchi on Saturday (11th of Bahman), referring to his meetings with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan of Turkey, said: These negotiations, which were held concerning bilateral relations and important regional issues of mutual interest, have always been beneficial and constructive.
The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister further emphasized: In these talks, I stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never sought to obtain nuclear weapons and is prepared to enter into a comprehensive, fair, and equitable agreement that secures the legitimate interests of the Iranian people. This agreement must include two main pillars: guaranteeing “non-acquisition of nuclear weapons” and the effective and comprehensive removal of sanctions.
Araghchi, appreciating Turkey’s constructive role, added: The Republic of Turkey, like other neighboring countries, has played a positive role through its valuable efforts towards realizing regional peace and stability, and the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes and appreciates these efforts.
He concluded by noting: Iran is always ready for interaction and cooperation with all countries in the region to preserve peace, stability, and security and to keep it away from any kind of transgression and illegal aggression.
