Israel Threatens Turkey: “We Will Block the F-35 Purchase”
Following Turkey’s efforts to purchase advanced American-made F-35 fighter jets, Israeli officials expressed concern over the consequences of this move, assessing it as a threat to Israel’s security. A senior Israeli official threatened that, if necessary, Israel would take all necessary measures to prevent the deal from being finalized.
According to the official, Tel Aviv’s concern stems from the possibility that Turkey might use these jets for aggressive purposes against Israel. He added, “Turkey’s access to the F-35 could endanger regional stability, as Ankara would likely use these jets to expand its influence in the region.”
The Zionist official also referenced the possibility of military conflict between the two countries, stating, “Although such a scenario seems unlikely at the moment, the probability is increasing.” Israel had previously emphasized that it would spare no effort to counter Turkey’s plans in Syria.
In another part of the warnings, the official directed a commanding tone toward the U.S. Congress, urging it to block the F-35 sale to Turkey. He stressed, “The U.S. Congress not only can but must prevent this deal.”
These tensions persist as Turkey has submitted a new proposal to the U.S. Reports indicate that Ankara has offered Washington to refrain from using the Russian-made S-400 air defense systems in exchange for receiving F-35 jets.
Notably, the U.S. had previously removed Turkey from the joint F-35 production program. Washington believes that the presence of Russian defense systems in Turkey could give Moscow access to sensitive information about the stealth capabilities of these jets.
These statements come as Israel, the primary source of overt instability in the region, continues to take every measure to advance its aggressive policies without restraint.
