Republican People’s Party and the New Year Vision
The Republican People’s Party (CHP) of Turkey, in its last annual meeting chaired by Özgür Özel, the party leader, reviewed the past year’s performance and announced its general orientations and political programs for the new year. In this meeting, issues such as the budget, minimum wage, and the country’s political and social developments were discussed, and the party’s vision for future activities was outlined.
Party officials reported that a three-stage roadmap has been prepared for the new year. This roadmap focuses on three main axes: continuation of political and social activities, drafting a program at the level of government, and following up on judicial processes related to detained mayors.
In the first stage, the party emphasized the continuation of political and social struggle, announcing that rallies and provincial visits will go on. The purpose of these activities was stated as strengthening direct contact with the people and completing organizational preparations for upcoming elections.

The second stage is devoted to drafting a governmental program. Within this framework, the party’s shadow cabinet and candidacy offices have been tasked with preparing a comprehensive program for governing the country in the event of an electoral victory. This program will be completed with the participation of civil society organizations, professional chambers, and field visits to various regions of the country.
The third stage concerns judicial processes. Party members, referring to the upcoming trials of detained mayors — including Ekrem İmamoğlu — declared that active presence in courtrooms and public communication about these trials will be part of the new year’s agenda. They also emphasized the need for transparency in these processes and reiterated their demand for live broadcasting of court sessions.
