Somalia’s Firm Opposition to Israel’s Action
Somalia, in response to the Zionist regime’s move to recognize “Somaliland,” issued an official statement declaring its firm opposition to any Israeli action against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
According to Mehr News Agency, citing Al-Masirah TV, the Somali government emphasized in the statement:
“We once again reaffirm our absolute and non-negotiable commitment to the national sovereignty, territorial unity, and integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.”
The statement continued:
“Somalia rejects any illegal action by Israel regarding the claim of recognizing the northern region of Somalia and considers it a blatant attack on its national sovereignty.”
It further stated:
“Somaliland is an inseparable and indivisible part of the territory of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and no foreign party has the authority or legal legitimacy to alter the territorial structure or undermine the country’s unity.”
The Somali government also reaffirmed its unconditional support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and strongly condemned the occupation and forced displacement of Palestinians by the Zionist regime.
Another part of the statement read:
“Somalia will not allow the establishment of any foreign military base on its soil, and any action that drags the country into proxy conflicts or external hostilities is rejected.”
Turkey
The Presidency of Turkey also reacted to this move, stating: “Israel’s decision to recognize the independence of Somaliland constitutes a clear violation of international law and direct interference in Somalia’s internal affairs.”
Egypt The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a joint statement with Somalia and Turkey, also declared its complete opposition to Israel’s action, stressing: “Any unilateral move that undermines Somalia’s sovereignty or weakens the stability of this country is rejected.”
