Turkey’s Anadolu Task Group Joins NATO Exercise
The Turkish Naval Forces have deployed the Anadolu Task Group to participate in the international exercise “Neptune Strike 25.3”, which began on September 22 in the Adriatic Sea, hosted by Italy. This exercise represents the third phase of NATO drills this year and is part of the Alliance’s “Enhanced Vigilance Activities” program.
Dozens of naval and air units from NATO member states, including Turkey, Italy, and the United States, are taking part in the exercise. Turkey plays a central role with its warships, submarines, helicopters, amphibious armored vehicles, and special naval units.
The maneuvers include light weapons firing, maritime surveillance operations, amphibious drills, anti-submarine warfare, mass casualty evacuation training, as well as loading and embarkation activities.
The Commander of NATO’s Amphibious Task Group emphasized in a statement to the media:
“The Neptune Strike exercise is of particular importance for strengthening cooperation among allied forces and for showcasing Turkey’s capabilities.”
The exercise continues with the participation and support of several warships and naval assets from various NATO member countries.
