Turkey’s Annual Industrial Production Index Increased by 4.9%
Turkey’s calendar-adjusted industrial production index rose by 4.9% in May this year compared to the same month of the previous year.
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), in May this year compared to the same period in 2024, the mining sector index increased by 10%, the manufacturing industry by 4.6%, and the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector by 4.7%.
The unadjusted industrial production index grew by 1.6% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the calendar- and seasonally-adjusted industrial production index increased by 3.1% in May this year compared to the same month last year.
Additionally, in May this year compared to the previous month, the mining sector index rose by 5.3%, and the manufacturing industry grew by 3.2%, while the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector remained stable.
