Turkey’s Diplomatic Consultations with Syria and Iraq on the Sidelines of the Doha Summit
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Syrian Foreign Minister Esad Hasan al-Shibani during the Twenty-Third Doha Summit. The meeting, held on the sidelines of the summit sessions, focused on bilateral relations and regional developments.
In the talks, Fidan congratulated al-Shibani on the occasion of December 8, marked as “Syria’s Freedom Day,” and emphasized Ankara’s continued support for the country’s reconstruction process. The two sides also exchanged views on key regional developments and the implementation of the March 10 agreement.
The Turkish Foreign Minister also met with Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Iraq, on the sidelines of the Doha Summit. This meeting concentrated on bilateral relations between Turkey and Iraq, particularly economic and energy issues, while regional developments were also a central topic of discussion.
These consultations are part of Turkey’s diplomatic efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and follow up on previous agreements, reflecting Ankara’s approach in supporting stability and reconstruction in neighboring countries.
