Turkey’s Emphasis on the Shift of Warfare to the Digital Realm and Narratives
Fahrettin Altun, Head of the Presidency’s Communications Department of Turkey, stated at the 17th Al Jazeera Forum in Doha, pointing to the changing nature of wars: “Today, conflicts are no longer confined to physical fields; they proceed through narratives, digital platforms, and perception management.”
Speaking at the forum held in Qatar’s capital, Altun added: “Conflicts such as Gaza and Syria teach us that wars do not end merely with ceasefires; they require management mechanisms, reconstruction frameworks, and political solutions.”
Emphasizing that “the world has already undergone transformation,” he continued: “Our responsibility is to ensure this transformation is steered in the right direction.”
The Head of the Presidency’s Communications Department of Turkey, stating that “Ankara has taken concrete and practical steps during this period to strengthen stability, peace, and security in the region,” invited all countries in the region to participate in this “shared responsibility.”
Altun concluded by noting: “In a world growing more complex every day, we support the formation of a comprehensive and sustainable security architecture in the region.”
