Turkish and Libyan Military Officials Meet in Ankara
Yaşar Güler, Turkey’s Minister of National Defense, and Lieutenant General Salahuddin al-Namroush, the Acting Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army, met and held talks in Ankara.
According to a statement from the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, Lieutenant General al-Namroush had traveled to Ankara upon the invitation of General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, the Chief of the Turkish General Staff. During the meeting between Yaşar Güler and Lieutenant General Salahuddin al-Namroush, which was also attended by General Bayraktaroğlu, the parties consulted on bilateral issues and matters of defense and security cooperation of mutual interest to the two countries.
Later during this visit, General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu welcomed his Libyan counterpart with an official ceremony at the Turkish General Staff Headquarters. At the ceremony, after the national anthems of both countries were played, Lieutenant General al-Namroush reviewed the guard of honor.
Following the official ceremony, a private and bilateral meeting was held between General Bayraktaroğlu and Lieutenant General al-Namroush, during which the most important issues related to military cooperation and regional developments were discussed and exchanged.
