Turkish Deputy Minister of Defense: Iran’s security is Turkey’s security
Lieutenant General İlkay Altındağ, Deputy Minister of Defense and Security of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey, arrived in Tehran this afternoon at the invitation of Brigadier General Mirahmedi, Deputy for Intelligence and Security of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
During the meeting, Lieutenant General Altındağ stressed: “The security of the Islamic Republic of Iran is the security of Turkey. We consider Iran as our own home and insist on expanding relations between the two countries.”
Brigadier General Mirahmedi, while expressing appreciation for Turkey’s stance in condemning the aggressions of the Zionist regime, stated: “The fundamental policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to develop and deepen fraternal relations with Turkey. The security and stability of Turkey are of special importance to Iran.”
In this session, the two sides discussed various issues including regional developments, border matters, common threats, military cooperation, holding joint exercises, and the exchange of military delegations.
