Turkish President Delivers Keys to the 300,000th Earthquake-Affected Housing Unit
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, speaking at the “Drawing Ceremony and Key Delivery of the 300,000th Housing Unit in Earthquake-Stricken Areas,” announced that two out of every three eligible families have already moved into their new homes.
Recalling the February 6, 2023 earthquake and the loss of over 53,000 lives, Erdoğan stated that the government, in cooperation with the public, has managed to carry out debris removal, reconstruction, and housing delivery in a short period of time. He added that by the end of the year, they aim to complete 453,000 independent units in the affected regions.

In Malatya alone, more than 43,000 housing units and thousands of workplaces have been handed over to citizens, and dozens of infrastructure, educational, and service projects have been inaugurated. Erdoğan also announced the allocation of 3.8 billion Turkish lira in aid to farmers who were uninsured and suffered damages due to frost.
In another part of his speech, he highlighted efforts to restore marketplaces, historical sites, and urban infrastructure in the affected provinces, emphasizing that no citizen will be left without a home or workplace.
