Turkey’s strong presence at the 36th Tehran International Book Fair
The 36th Tehran International Book Fair hosted a remarkable Turkish pavilion with the participation of publishers, authors, and cultural representatives from the country. This presence, organized with the support of Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Yunus Emre Institute, was well-received by visitors.
Hicabi Kırlangıç, Turkey’s Ambassador to Tehran, emphasized during the opening ceremony of the country’s pavilion: ‘Turkey has been an active participant in the Tehran Book Fair for years, and this year, it has also taken part in this cultural event with a rich collection of diverse books, particularly in the field of children’s literature.’

Referring to the designation of 2024 as the ‘Year of Shared Culture between Iran and Turkey,’ he announced joint cultural programs between the two countries and added: ‘We hope this exhibition will be an opportunity to strengthen cultural diplomacy and develop literary relations between the two nations.’
At the Turkish pavilion, works by Turkish authors along with Persian translations are on display, and literary meetings are being held with the participation of writers from both countries. This significant presence is considered another step toward strengthening bilateral ties in the fields of culture and literature.
