Turkish Airlines Purchases 75 Aircraft from Boeing
Turkish Airlines, as part of its strategic growth program, announced that between 2029 and 2034 it will purchase 75 Boeing aircraft of the B787-9 and B787-10 models. Of these, 50 will be firm orders and 25 will be optional. Negotiations with Rolls-Royce and GE Aerospace regarding the purchase of engines, spare engines, and maintenance services are still ongoing.
Turkish Airlines has also completed its negotiations with Boeing for the purchase of 150 737-8/10 MAX aircraft, including 100 firm orders and 50 optional ones. These orders will be subject to the outcome of negotiations with engine manufacturer CFM International.
With the finalization of these agreements, Turkish Airlines intends to modernize its entire fleet with new-generation aircraft by 2035. The company has projected an average annual growth rate of 6% in line with this plan.
Previously, in 2023, Turkish Airlines had ordered 230 aircraft from Airbus. The company’s stated goal is to expand its fleet and transform Istanbul into a major international hub.
