Aliyev: Azerbaijan Supports the Two-State Solution
The President of Azerbaijan announced that Baku continues to support the establishment of an independent State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital and the two-state solution, while also maintaining the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
Ilham Aliyev, in a message to Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, congratulated him on the anniversary of the establishment of the Palestinian state and emphasized that the friendship and brotherhood between the peoples of the two countries are deep-rooted and strong.
Aliyev stated: “Azerbaijan supports the establishment of an independent State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital and considers the resolution of the Palestinian issue based on the two-state principle and within the framework of United Nations resolutions as essential.”
The President of Azerbaijan further noted: “Azerbaijan will continue to provide necessary humanitarian assistance to Palestine, and I am confident that the friendly relations and close cooperation between our two countries will further expand successfully in the future.”
