Based on the investigation conducted by the Istanbul General Prosecutor’s Office for Money Laundering Crimes, an arrest warrant was issued against Mehmet Pahlevan on charges of “laundering proceeds of crime” and under the “Anti-Money Laundering” Law.
Following this ruling, police forces intervened and arrested Pahlavan at his home; he was taken to Bayrampaşa State Hospital for a medical examination and then transferred to the provincial police department.
After completing the interrogation process at the police station, Pahlevan was sent to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan and his statement was recorded by the prosecutor’s office.
The prosecutor’s office referred Pahlawan to the Criminal Court of the Peace with a “ban on leaving the country” order; the judge also ordered Pahlawan’s release on the condition of “ban on leaving the country.”
