Ceasefire Violation in Gaza and the Death of 8 Palestinians
The Israeli cabinet this afternoon (Sunday) approved the name “Resurrection” for the Gaza war. This war, which at the beginning of Israel’s attacks on Gaza on October 7, 2023, was known as “Iron Swords,” has been renamed at the suggestion of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz.
Netanyahu had previously used the term “Resurrection War” during the anniversary ceremony of the October 7 operation, saying: “Since that dark day, we have been in an existential war; the Resurrection War, this is the very name that must be given to this battle.”
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that in the past 24 hours Israel carried out attacks in violation of the ceasefire, during which 8 Palestinians were killed and 3 others were injured. It was also reported that the bodies of 10 Palestinians who had remained under the rubble from previous attacks were recovered.
According to the ministry, many victims are still trapped under the rubble, and Gaza’s medical teams and civil defense units have not yet been able to reach them. Based on the announced statistics, the number of victims of Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip, which began on October 8, 2023, has risen to 68,159 deaths and 170,203 injuries.
