Erdoğan Criticizes Gaza Massacre on Human Rights Day
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a video message on the occasion of Human Rights Day (December 10), stated: “The massacre of more than 70,000 people in Gaza shows that the values enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights have been severely damaged.”
Erdoğan, referring to the ongoing crimes in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, said: “Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the international community, these crimes still continue. The path to achieving a just and lasting peace in Gaza is to strengthen the ceasefire established with the participation of our country and to implement the two‑state solution.”
He added: “Israel, through lawlessness and disregard for international rules, has martyred at least 370 Palestinians since October 11 and violated the ceasefire. Increasing global pressure on Israel to prevent Gaza from returning to conflict is of vital importance.”
Erdoğan also referred to the crisis in Sudan, saying: “To end the bloodshed in Sudan and to return this country to an environment of security and stability, our efforts based on peace and dialogue will continue.”
