Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey, congratulated the nation and its youth on May 19, the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
In his message, honoring the memory of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades, Erdoğan stated:
“Today marks the 106th anniversary of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, arriving in Samsun to begin the War of Independence. We regard our youth not only as the architects of the future but also as the driving force of change. I believe that the energy, determination, and aspirations of our nation’s youth, who carry the legacy of our civilization in their hearts, will leave their mark on this era as the ‘Century of Turkey.'”

He added:
“We are striving with all our might to fulfill our promise of leaving behind a peaceful, prosperous, and technologically advanced country for our youth. We are providing opportunities for our young people to discover their potential in every field—from science to art, sports, agriculture, diplomacy, and nuclear technologies. We are walking hand in hand with our youth to realize the vision of a great and powerful Turkey.”
