Meeting and Negotiation of the Presidents of Türkiye and Ethiopia in Addis Ababa
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Türkiye, arrived in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, at the head of a high-level delegation. Upon his arrival, an official welcoming ceremony was held for him with the attendance of Abiy Ahmed, the Prime Minister of the country.
Following the ceremony, the two leaders began their bilateral meeting and negotiations at the National Palace. Continuing his visit program, Erdoğan attended the “Adwa” Victory War Memorial and paid tribute to the martyrs by laying a wreath.
After the conclusion of the high-level delegation meetings between the two countries, a ceremony for the signing of cooperation agreements was held in the presence of Erdoğan and Abiy Ahmed. During this ceremony, a Memorandum of Understanding for the 9th Term Joint Economic Commission between Türkiye and Ethiopia concerning economic, commercial, and technical cooperation, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of energy, were signed by the respective ministers.
Before departing for Addis Ababa, the President of Türkiye was given an official send-off at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport by the Governor of Istanbul and a number of local officials.
