Turkey’s Cosmetic and Hygiene Product Exports Reach $3.3 Billion
According to the latest report from the Association of Cosmetics, Hygiene and Cleaning Products Manufacturers of Turkey, the country achieved exports worth $3.309 billion in the personal care and cleaning products sector in 2025. This figure represents a 4.8 percent increase compared to the previous year.
The published statistical details indicate that within this total, the share of cosmetic products (including soap, shampoo, and wet wipes) saw a 21 percent surge, reaching $1.695 billion. In contrast, cleaning products experienced a 4 percent decrease to $715 million, and paper hygiene products saw an 11 percent decline to $899 million.
On the other hand, the total imports for this product group in 2025 amounted to $2.028 billion, showing a significant 30 percent increase compared to the previous year.
According to the Chairperson of the Cosmetics and Cleaning Products Industry Council of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the sector’s export performance demonstrates Turkey’s competitive position as a net exporter in global markets. The Chairperson emphasized that the recorded trade surplus confirms the competitiveness of Turkish brands internationally.
However, the Chairperson warned about the faster growth of imports compared to exports, considering it a warning signal for increasing dependence on foreign supply. Meanwhile, expressing optimism about the future, the Chairperson predicted that with the facilitation and improvement of customs procedures with the European Union, Turkey’s cosmetics and cleaning products sector will record a stronger export performance in 2026.
