Mehdi Sanaei stated in a message on the social network X:
“Today, I had a meeting with Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the esteemed President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Over nearly two hours, various aspects of the relations between the two countries, as well as regional issues, were discussed. The relations between the two countries are on the path of resolving issues and taking positive steps towards expansion.”

Based on this meeting, it is highly likely that the presidents of the two countries will have a meeting; it seems that Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, will arrive in Baku with a high-ranking delegation for discussions and dialogue with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Relations between Tehran and Baku have experienced ups and downs, which now require review and restoration in order to contribute effectively to regional development.
One of Iran’s primary concerns regarding Azerbaijan is the close and strategic relationship between Azerbaijan and Israel, which has consistently been emphasized by Iranian officials, particularly military authorities.
