Ozgur Ozel: The victory of Ekrem Imamoglu with 70 percent of the votes
Ozgur Ozel participated in a television program and presented his prediction regarding the possible percentage of votes for Imamoglu.
In response to the host’s question, he said: Ekrem Bey once requested a meeting with me and expressed his concern, saying: Dear leader, an attack against me is underway, and the information I have obtained indicates that these attacks will directly target me in the next few stages.
He continued: We anticipated these attacks, but not to this extent and scale. Their goal is to prevent us from nominating Ekrem Imamoglu as the presidential candidate. However, we have made our decision and will continue on our path.
He also referred to the annulment of Imamoglu’s academic degree and the efforts to prevent his candidacy, saying: We ignored these actions and continued. Even if Ekrem Bey is in prison, we will win the elections.
He said about the importance of the ballot box: The ballot box is a legacy from Ataturk and our ancestors. I will even sacrifice my life to preserve it.
Ozel also criticized the government and affiliated media, stating: Even if Imamoglu is in prison or exile, he will still win the elections.
Regarding his own candidacy, Ozel said: From the beginning, I had no such intention. My goal is to lead the Republican People’s Party to success and leave a great legacy for future generations.
He also emphasized: This decision was made from the beginning based on principles and long-term objectives.
