Three New Members Were Appointed to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) National Unity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission
Following the withdrawal of the İYİ Parti from participation in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) National Unity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, the three seats allocated to this party were distributed among the Justice and Development Party (AK Parti), Republican People’s Party (CHP), and Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Parti).
Accordingly, the new members appointed to the commission are as follows:
Cahit Özkan, AK Parti Denizli Member of Parliament
Umut Akdoğan, CHP Ankara Member of Parliament
Celal Fırat, DEM Parti İstanbul Member of Parliament
The commission, established to examine legal regulations after the PKK’s laying down of arms and liquidation, and planned to operate with the participation of 51 members from 12 parties with parliamentary groups, led to these three seats being shared among the three parties due to the İYİ Parti’s withdrawal.
TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş had requested these parties to announce the names of their Members of Parliament by 17:00 today.
After these changes, the final seat distribution of the commission is as follows:
Justice and Development Party (AK Parti): 22 Seats

Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Parti): 5 Seats
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): 4 Seats
