Turkey’s Humanitarian Aid to Sudan with Over 10,000 Tents
A ship carrying Turkey’s humanitarian aid, including more than 10,000 tents, departed from Mersin Port bound for Sudan.
This shipment, prepared by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority of Turkey (AFAD), is being sent to Port Sudan with the coordination of the United Nations’ International Organization for Migration, to provide shelter for war-displaced people in the Darfur region.
Ali Hamza Pehlivan, President of AFAD, stated during the farewell ceremony: “This ship is the first of three vessels carrying Turkey’s humanitarian aid to the people of Sudan. The current shipment consists of 10,080 tents, and in total we will deliver more than 30,000 tents to Sudan.”
