Araghchi Calls Trump’s Approach the Law of the Jungle
Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, in a conversation with reporters after the meeting of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament, likened the approach of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to the “law of the jungle.”
He stated: “Trump speaks of peace through the language of force; in fact, he defines peace according to the law of the jungle and claims that whoever has greater power can do whatever they wish.”
According to Iranian media, Araghchi continued: “Meanwhile, the international community has, over the past eight decades since World War II, sought to organize the global order based on law and international law. Such an approach undermines all the achievements of these efforts.”
He added: “This new development has caused widespread concern among countries and scholars of international relations, with many considering it a serious problem.”
Araghchi also commented on the situation of Iran’s embassy in Venezuela, saying: “Iran’s embassy in Caracas is active. The conditions of Iranian nationals in this country are being continuously monitored. Fortunately, no problems have been reported so far.”
