Devlet Bahçeli: The “Terror-Free Turkey” Process Will Be Concluded by Year-End
Devlet Bahçeli, leader of Turkey’s Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), announced that he expects the “Terror-Free Turkey” process to be completed by the end of this year.
Bahçeli also shared his views on the “Terror-Free Turkey” initiative. Emphasizing the importance of the work carried out by the “National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission” in the Turkish Parliament, he called on all political parties to support the process.
Referring to the PKK terrorist organization’s response to Abdullah Öcalan’s call for dissolution, Bahçeli stated that this behavior has paved the way for positive developments.
Stressing that “peace cannot be achieved with one wing,” he added that burning weapons instead of burying them is a sign of a firm decision to end violence.
He also highlighted the unity of the Turkish nation and said that the Nationalist Movement Party is making sincere efforts to establish a peaceful environment.
Bahçeli noted that Kurdish citizens in the eastern and southeastern regions of the country also support the process, and this support serves as a guarantee for the success of the “Terror-Free Turkey” initiative.
