Emergency heart surgery for Seri Soraya Onder, Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Seri Soraya Onder, Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and representative of the Democratic Party of Istanbul, was transferred to the hospital on the evening of Tuesday, April 15, following a heart attack. According to a statement from Florence Nightingale Hospital, the 62-year-old Onder was brought to the hospital without a pulse, and blood flow was restored through medical interventions. Diagnosed with a tear in the aorta, she underwent emergency surgery at 11:35 PM, during which a 12-hour operation included bypass and aortic graft procedures. Due to insufficient right-side heart contraction, she was connected to a cardiac support device.
Erdogan’s phone call to follow up on Seri Soraya Onder’s condition
President Erdogan contacted Pervin Buldan, representative of the Democratic Party of Van, to inquire about Seri Soraya Onder’s condition and express his wishes for her recovery. Pervin Buldan mentioned that the medical team performing Seri Soraya Onder’s surgery consists of Turkey’s best doctors, assuring that she is in safe hands. President Erdogan emphasized that Seri Soraya Onder’s health condition is being closely monitored.
