Erdoğan: We are bringing the passengers of the Sumud Fleet to Turkey
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey, delivered a speech at the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony of the Sultanbeyli Mosque, addressing various domestic and international issues.
Referring to developments in Gaza, he said: “We are making every effort to stop the genocide in Gaza. From humanitarian aid to diplomatic contacts, we have mobilized all our capacities. Our goal is to ensure peace, tranquility, and security for our brothers and sisters in Gaza as soon as possible.”
Erdoğan added:
“With the images presented at the United Nations, we showed the world the suffering of Gaza’s children, and we also discussed this matter in detail with the President of the United States, Donald Trump. Hamas has once again declared its readiness for peace, and this represents a new opportunity to achieve lasting peace in the region. Turkey will continue its efforts to prevent the shedding of innocent blood and to restore smiles to the faces of Gaza’s children. This was also the most important topic of our recent phone conversation with Mr. Trump. We welcome Hamas’s positive response to the ceasefire proposal. If all parties act responsibly, it will be possible to stop the bloodshed and establish peace. It is essential that Israel immediately halt its attacks so that the hopes for peace that have emerged are not destroyed.”
He also reiterated: “We are bringing the passengers of the Global Sumud Fleet of Hope to our country.”
In another part of his speech, Erdoğan referred to the issue of financial corruption, saying: “Billions of dollars have been spent, yet no work or service has been carried out. Shouldn’t the judiciary be held accountable for these thefts? While everything is clear, the Chairman of the Republican People’s Party defends the municipal thieves by calling these cases political.”
The President of Turkey concluded by addressing the housing issue, announcing: “In cooperation with TOKİ, we will launch a campaign for social rental housing in order to reduce the pressure caused by skyrocketing rents. The government will provide rental housing units for citizens.”
