First Meeting of Terror-Free Turkey Commission to Be Held on August 5
Members of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) have been invited to form a commission aimed at achieving a “Terror-Free Turkey.” The commission will hold its first meeting on August 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the TBMM Ceremony Hall.
TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş called on the commission members to attend the meeting. Following Kurtulmuş’s opening speech, representatives of political parties will present their views. Additionally, the commission’s working methods, principles, and operational framework will be established.
The commission includes representatives from various political parties, such as the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), the Republican People’s Party (CHP), the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), the Peoples’ Democratic Party (DEM), and other smaller parties.
This step was taken following the announcement of a group of PKK members surrendering and the ongoing process related to this issue. The next meeting of the commission will focus on determining future policies and action plans.
