Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: We Appreciate the Goodwill of Turkey and Neighbors
According to the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baghaei, during his weekly press conference with reporters, referred to the diplomatic efforts of regional countries, including Turkey, to peacefully resolve existing tensions, stating: “We sincerely thank the goodwill and noble efforts of all regional and neighboring countries, especially Turkey.”
Explaining the recent talks between Iran and the United States in Muscat, he added: “We had already expressed our appreciation. The Deputy Foreign Minister, in his contacts with officials from regional countries, including neighbors on the Persian Gulf littoral and Pakistan, has witnessed valuable high-level efforts to reduce tensions and create a foundation for diplomatic dialogue.”
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson, pointing to the continuation of regional interactions, noted: “Communications and consultations are continuing seriously. The esteemed Foreign Minister has recently held talks with his Egyptian, Turkish, and Emirati counterparts, and the Deputy Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates was in Tehran yesterday. Phone contact was also made with Saudi officials. We believe regional countries can play a constructive and positive role in advancing diplomatic processes.”
In response to a question about the possible efforts of the Israeli regime to influence the nuclear negotiations, Baghaei emphasized: “Our negotiating counterpart is the US government, and it is Washington’s direct responsibility to act in favor of regional peace and stability, independent of destructive pressures and influences. Experience has shown that America’s unconditional alignment with this regime’s demands has been one of the main factors of instability in West Asia over the past decades.”
Finally, regarding the possibility of any military action against Iran, he warned: “The Islamic Republic of Iran will deliver a decisive and regret-inducing response to any military aggression. Past experiences also show that the actions of the Israeli regime are not realized without coordination and support from the United States; therefore, in the event of such circumstances, Iran’s response will be directed at all its perpetrators and supporters.”
