Pakistan Invited to Participate in Iran US Negotiations
A spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the country has received an official invitation to attend a new round of negotiations between Iran and the United States.
Tahir Endrabi, spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, confirmed at a press conference on Tuesday: “Pakistan has received an invitation to attend the upcoming negotiations between Iran and the United States.”
According to a diplomatic source aware of the matter who spoke to the Dawn network, Pakistan’s participation as a quiet yet effective mediator could play an important role in reducing tensions and facilitating these talks. The source added that Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, is likely to participate in these negotiations.
In this regard, an unnamed Arab official told AFP that the negotiations will be held on Friday in Turkey.
