Turkey and Pakistan Sign Two Cooperation Agreements in Agriculture and Livestock
According to Pakistan’s official news agency, the two memorandums of understanding were signed by officials from both countries in the presence of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a delegation from Turkey, led by Abdulkadir Karagöz, Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Agricultural Technologies Cluster.
The meeting was attended by Turkey’s Ambassador to Islamabad, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan, Prime Minister’s Advisers Syed Tariq Fatemi and Haroon Akhtar, as well as a number of other senior Pakistani officials.
During the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif, referring to his country’s desire to expand relations with Turkey, stated: “Pakistan seeks to develop bilateral economic partnership, especially in the fields of agriculture and livestock.”
He added: “Almighty Allah has blessed Pakistan with abundant resources in the agricultural sector, and we are trying to fully utilize this potential by benefiting from modern technologies and comprehensive planning.”
Emphasizing his country’s determination to modernize the agricultural sector, the Prime Minister of Pakistan remarked: “Pakistan is determined to transform its agricultural sector by utilizing the innovative technologies that Turkey has successfully implemented in the agriculture and livestock sectors, in line with global developments.”
