Vice President of Turkey: Commitment to International Law in the Venezuela Crisis
Cevdet Yılmaz, Vice President of Turkey, stated:
“In the Venezuela crisis, the Republic of Turkey will continue to adhere to the principles of international law and stand by the people of Venezuela. Through dialogue with all parties, we will support stability and peace.”
In a statement on social media, Yılmaz emphasized that foreign policy is a specialized field that must be conducted on the basis of rationality, a synthesis of principles and realities, and with priority given to national interests; not dictated by superficial slogans, daily approaches, or irresponsible remarks of the opposition.
Highlighting the importance of leadership in today’s global conditions, he added: “In a global system dominated by uncertainty, power politics, and chaos, leadership plays a vital role. The experience and determination of our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, carry great value during this challenging period for our region and the world. We have witnessed this reality in the crises of Syria, Ukraine, and Gaza. In the Venezuela crisis as well, the Republic of Turkey will remain committed to international law, respect for national will, and the people of Venezuela, and will defend stability through dialogue with all parties.”
