Erdoğan: History will record Turkey’s stance alongside Gaza in golden letters
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey, emphasized in the opening session of the fourth legislative year of the 28th term of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey: “With God’s will, the lasting peace, development, and prosperity of the region will be built through the unity of Turks, Kurds, and Arabs.”
Pointing out that Turkey is not only the home of Kurds within the country but also a refuge for Kurds beyond its borders, he added: “We, Turks, Kurds, Arabs, Sunnis, Shiites, Alevis, and Nusayris, regardless of our ethnic, linguistic, and sectarian differences, are all travelers of a shared future.”
In another part of his speech, referring to developments in Gaza, Erdoğan said: “The strongest reaction to Israel’s genocide and its state terrorism in the region arose from this Parliament; the Parliament that represents 86 million citizens of Turkey. Turkey has never abandoned the Palestinian people, and the brave sons of Gaza, who resist the occupiers with the most modern weapons, are the closest witnesses to our efforts.”
The President of Turkey stated that the defense of the rights of Palestine and Al-Quds al-Sharif will continue until the last breath, adding: “Establishing a lasting peace that the Palestinians deserve is first the duty of the Islamic world and then the responsibility of the international community. History will record our stance alongside Gaza in golden letters.”
He also stressed: “As long as an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital is not established on the basis of the 1967 borders, our struggle will continue. I believe the day will come when peace and tranquility will prevail from the river to the sea.”
In another part of his remarks on the fight against terrorism, Erdoğan said: “Our goal is to end terrorism and strengthen brotherhood. The Republic of Turkey will never kneel, will never make concessions, and will never bargain away its sovereignty before any global power.”
Regarding Syria, he noted: “From the very beginning, we have firmly supported Syria’s territorial integrity, and today we stand against the plans to divide this country. If diplomatic initiatives do not yield results, Turkey’s stance is clear; we will not allow a repeated scenario to take place in Syria.”
