Erdoğan: Turkey Approaches Single-Digit Inflation with the Medium-Term Program
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the 29th Ordinary General Assembly of the Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK), outlining a set of government policies and programs. Highlighting TİSK’s role in business and employment, he praised the confederation’s pragmatic approach in preparing reports and commercial documents, and stressed the necessity for enterprises to swiftly adapt to technological developments and globalization trends.
Erdoğan announced that monthly support for small and medium-sized enterprises, which play a key role in preserving employment, will rise from 2,500 lira per employee to 3,500 lira in 2026, and that large companies will also be included in this scheme. He further stated that incentive programs for groups such as women, youth, and holders of professional qualification certificates would be extended, calling on employers to assume responsibility in the process of determining the minimum wage.

The President emphasized that workers’ rights are not limited to wages, but also include the guarantee of safe and healthy working conditions. Referring to recent workplace accidents, Erdoğan said the government would fully implement certification and inspection mechanisms and would show no tolerance for negligence, even among officials. He urged employers to strictly comply with their obligations regarding occupational safety and health.
He also pointed to a series of financial and credit measures designed, in his words, to reduce business costs and facilitate financing for investors and exporters. Erdoğan expressed appreciation for TİSK’s role in strengthening labor peace and social dialogue, and wished success to the confederation’s managers and members.
Erdoğan identified the “Terror-Free Turkey” process as one of the government’s main priorities, stressing the need to end the four-decade-long terrorism problem. Drawing attention to the economic and social costs of this issue, he announced the establishment in parliament of the “National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission,” tasked with securing the participation of all parties and groups. The President also called on the business community, particularly the TİSK family, to declare their support for this process, stating that only with self-confidence and courage can the goal of a Turkey free from terrorism be achieved.
