Özgür Özel Remains as Chairman of the Republican People’s Party (CHP)
The Republican People’s Party (CHP), following its 22nd Extraordinary Congress, held its first meeting under the chairmanship of Özgür Özel. In this session, upon the proposal of the party leader and with the vote of confidence from the members, it was decided that the composition of the Central Executive Board (MYK) would remain unchanged.
Accordingly, Özgür Özel was retained as party chairman, Selin Sayek Böke will continue to serve as Secretary General, and Deniz Yücel also remained in his position as Party Spokesperson.
At the end of the meeting, Yücel announced that the Central Executive Board would continue its work in its current composition. He also emphasized that in this session, in addition to reviewing the country’s ongoing issues, the focus was placed on the continuation of party programs and on presenting solutions to societal problems.
Party leader Özgür Özel stated in his remarks that from now on, the main focus would be on explaining the party’s programs and offering practical proposals to address the country’s challenges.
