Turkey’s Olive Exports Break Record
In the 2024-2025 season, Turkey exported 100,884 tons of table olives to 117 countries, generating 255 million 310 thousand dollars in revenue and setting a historic record in this sector.
According to data from the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, the value of table olive exports increased by 22 percent compared to the previous season, rising from 209 million dollars to over 255 million dollars. In terms of volume, this figure represents the second-highest level in Turkey’s olive export history, following the record of 109 thousand tons in the 2021-2022 season.
For the first time in its history, Turkey ranked first in the world in table olive production. The largest exports of black olives were made to Germany, Iraq, and Romania, while the main destinations for green olives were Iraq, Germany, and the United States of America.
The President of the Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association announced that black olive exports rose by 19 percent, increasing from 162 million dollars to 194 million dollars, while green olive exports grew by 29 percent, rising from 47.5 million dollars to 61.4 million dollars. He emphasized that these results exceeded the set targets and marked a historic achievement for Turkey.
He further stated that the olive harvest is currently continuing intensively and that production levels in the 2025-2026 season are expected to be similar to this year. Highlighting the recent rainfall, which is expected to improve both the quality and quantity of the crop, he predicted that if global prices recover, Turkey’s table olive exports could reach 300 million dollars in the next season.
