Turkey’s Transportation Map Redrawn in 2025
Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced: “With the extensive investments we carried out in 2025, the country’s transportation map has been redrawn. Our goal is to strengthen communication networks and provide easier access for our citizens.”
Uraloğlu explained that a variety of projects have been inaugurated across different regions of the country. He pointed to the opening of new highways and ring roads in cities such as Aydın, Konya, Malatya, Elazığ, and Antalya, noting that these projects have enabled stronger connections between the east and west as well as the north and south of Turkey. He also highlighted the completion of railway lines and the delivery of the first national suburban train to the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality.
In the aviation sector, the Minister announced the opening of new domestic and international terminals at Antalya Airport. He added that the Türksat 6A satellite has been placed into orbit, providing communication services not only to Turkey but also to a wide population worldwide. He further stated that new railway and metro projects have been launched in various provinces, emphasizing that investments have not been limited to Turkey alone, as projects have also been implemented in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Uraloğlu went on to mention projects carried out in the second half of the year, noting that new initiatives have been inaugurated or groundbreaking ceremonies held in provinces including Bolu, Kırşehir, Trabzon, Sivas, and Burdur.
