Van-Tehran Train Services Continue Despite Iran-Israel Tensions
Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that despite the tensions arising from Israel’s attacks on Iran, the Van-Tehran train services are continuing as scheduled, with 1,186 passengers served in seven planned trips.
Uraloğlu recalled that the Tehran-Van passenger train departs from Tehran on Sundays and Wednesdays and from Van on Mondays and Thursdays, emphasizing that they are closely monitoring the operations, which began on June 13.
He also added that an additional special trip with a capacity of 320 passengers is scheduled from Tehran to Van on June 27, with the train returning to Tehran on June 28 after picking up passengers from Van.
The minister noted that the Tehran-Van train, operating two round trips per week, began its first journey this year from Tehran on March 9 and from Van on March 10. Since then, 63 trips have been made, serving a total of 10,975 passengers.
